Thanks, Jelly! This reminded me that I need to look for some Plein Sud clothes on eBay! The Plein Sud sold at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace is ridiculously expensive (because it is ridiculously Pasisian). Where else could I find a blog title with “Plein” it in and a gentle reminder? Isn’t it funny how life works? By the way, if this gentlemen was wearing Plein Sud, his silhouette would have been much more svelte.
You are most welcome as I think we see eye-to-eye, Dave!! Don is right in that I can be “provocative”, but that’s what happens when you have to whittle your views down to fit a blog. Actually, the ‘strong viewpoints’ expressed on his blog (by a few ‘sensitive’ bloggers) crack me up, and I howled at your “fuck off” comment! Can’t imagine anyone saying “fuck off” on Jelly’s blog…lol!!
I just got back from reading the ‘dust up’ on Don’s blog and found it interesting. I think I would see the situation in the same way. It finally does come down to demographic arithmetic.
I don’t have a commenting policy, but if I had one it would be that only Englishmen are allowed to say ‘fuck off’ on this blog…it just sounds better with an accent. Anyway its good for my stats (or as we call them, ‘Mice Tats’).
I have often referred to myself as a “math moron” on various blogs and for the life of me don’t get ‘new math’. My moronic math skillz have served me well over the years though, and have translated into a top-tier FICO score (in fair disclosure, I did fall victim to the real estate debacle). I wish someone would explain to me how we are going to pay for a 13 trillion dollar national debt, ‘free health care’ and open borders (not sarcastic…I really want to know). I read an AP report today that Obama stated (referencing the Gulf crisis) “things are going to return to normal”, the region’s fouled water will be in “even better shape than before the catastrophic spill” and that Gulf seafood is safe to eat. Not only do I feel like a math moron, I also feel absolutely RETARDED because I found those claims incredulous. Either I am seriously out-of-the-loop (quite possible) or [...fill in the blank].
Mr. Jelly,
This one’s for the gallery opener! I don’t know how you do it; and this from the only person in the world who has actual evidence that you paid people to take your exams at U of H. Seriously killer shot.
Hey FJ! Hope you had a nice R & R and got nice and refreshed going into Blogoland playoff time/offseason…I’ve never figured out which so I just call it both.
I can’t tell you how happy I am that you were able to track down the Gordon’s fisherman. It has been two years that I’ve gone without his tasty fish sticks and I’ve got a craving now. I’d appreciate it if you’d kindly tell the man to put away his childish things (namely his easel and paints) and get back to fucking work. I’m hungry.
Haha, I’ll pass that along. And now you’ve made me hungry for fish sticks with fries, ketchup, and malt vinegar….Ummm. Thanks Scott, we had a great time.
Cool shot. I love Bodega Head.Hitchcock movie “The Birds” was shot there. I know FJ knows this. My only Question FJ, was this last week? If it was you are in serious trouble, I was in Sonoma County.
Hope you had a great trip, FJ. Damn good shot, and the color touch is special. He should paint a picture of this photograph, whereas he would have to repaint the painting in super miniature. Kind of like that Norman Rockwell picture with the mirror.
I find this incredibly poignant in light of the Gulf of Mexico tragedy. It may not be intentional, but what I see is the guy painting his memory of the place before all the color drained away. There is a sweetness about him too somehow. Beautiful shot … *wipes away tear*.
I enjoyed the shot and the painter’s acid-damaged imagination, which allows him to see colors that aren’t there.
But what I really enjoyed was the discussion about the proper setting to deliver a “fuck off” in various accents. Mine’s kind of a nothing: midwest without the Fargo inflections. I like to deliver my “fuck offs” with a dismissive wave, much like Johnny Depp did in “Once Upon a Time in Mexico.”
I think ElPresDave has earned the right to deliver as many fuck-offs as he wishes, seeing as he was once overlord of Alan Truitt’s comment threads, which contained nearly as many “fucks” as it did vowels…
CLT, thanks for that. Swearing on blogs that regular use the epithets is one thing, F-bombing at Crabby Old Fart who does not use such language was quite wrong, irrespective of what was (or was not) said to or about me.
Sick Days was a blog where just about anything went, even if I couldn’t always understand what was being said!
Sorry FJ, my indescretion is taking over your post and that isn’t right either. I only brought the matter up here as I had no other way of thanking elizabeth3hersh for her support.
No further comments folks, let FJ’s photos speak to us?
I get it Dave and you’re more than welcome to say anything you what…you’ve earned the right, plus it adds interest to the whole tedious process that is blogging.
Believe it or not, I tried taking a similar one of this elderly asian woman who was fishing on the rocky shoreline. I don’t know if she had ESP or what, but right when I was about to shoot, she turned around and shot dagger eyes at me. So I ran away.
Just got back from my travels, I avoided the plen air painters, but had I thought of what interesting subjects they could be especially with selective coloring, I may have broken my no people rule – glad you don’t have that rule.

So, is it thee?
Haha, it’s not, I am taller!!

elizabeth3hersh; Just to say thanks for all your support at the crabby old fart’s place about you-know-what… appreciated!
Sorry FJ, no other way to thank the lady!

Money (amongst other things)could be saved by not waging war.
I shall try very hard not to say the Fword again!
Dave, PLEASE drop the f-bomb again!! You’re English and FJ has granted you special dispensation!
That is such a responsibility, consequent free profanity; I may need therapy again?
he looks lonely. i want to give him a cookie.
You give him a cookie and I’ll provide the milk.
Mr. Jelly,
This one’s for the gallery opener! I don’t know how you do it; and this from the only person in the world who has actual evidence that you paid people to take your exams at U of H. Seriously killer shot.
Haha, I don’t recall that. I may have paid a woman for a breast exam, but that’s it. Thanks Don.

just love how you isolated the color! very nice!
Thanks Jill.

No, we were there over the weekend.
Hope you had a relaxing trip, F.J.!
And I agree with jill … what perfect use of selective coloring … has a very timeless feel about it … wonderful!
Many thanks Robert.

Haha, I love it. That would make it like some kind of Escher drawing in a way. Thanks bro.

Thanks Kirsty, I hadn’t thought of the oil spill, but you make a great point.
oooh love that selective coloring. It’s like the painter is bringing the scene to life. Very Pleasantville. You remember the movie, right?
Thanks Amber, I do remember the movie and, now you mention it, it does have a Pleasantville feel to it. Cool.
God yes!
I love his posture, how how it allows me to imagine he is goofy and bumbling, and altogether non threatening and gentle….
Your feeling proves to be quite accurate from what I could tell, Thanks Ruby.
He looks so cute!
I enjoyed the shot and the painter’s acid-damaged imagination, which allows him to see colors that aren’t there.

Wonderful shot and so well-processed! Creative and interesting and I like it!
Thanks Tracy, I appreciate that.
Neat shot, Bob. Love the touch of colour.
Thanks Dave, good to see you.
Cool shot, FJ!

Haha, running away is always my Plan B. Keep trying.
Just got back from my travels, I avoided the plen air painters, but had I thought of what interesting subjects they could be especially with selective coloring, I may have broken my no people rule – glad you don’t have that rule.
Yeah Lynn, you may have to break down and do it someday.
Grandpa!!!
What I thought too!!
