Partly Cloudy

6 02 2010

After several weeks of rain and overcast skys, the sun came out today.  The sky was full of awesome cumulus clouds so I grabbed my camera and reveled in it.  I guess I needed a vitamin D fix or was deficient in melatonin or serotonin or some kind of tonin.  I feel better.  Enjoy.

I love the various sculptural looks of clouds and I’m glad you’re enjoying your weather. It’s been raining most of the day in Sydney and I’m enjoying that. The humidlty level has dropped a bit – it’s been 80+% for days.

I am digging it when the sun is out.

Whoa FJ. You’ve got some nice skies out that way, bro. Thanks for the pictures. We’ve got snow coming . . . again. I like it!

Hunker down Dan, thanks for stopping by.

I have no beef with the azure skies and fluffy clouds, but I do with the industrialization of American architecture as epitomized in the Walgreens shot. Strip malls are becoming more and more indistinguishable from 1960s Russian architecture where new housing projects/shopping centers were nothing more than ugly gray concrete panels slapped together (the shoppers inside will be similarly [unimaginatively] attired, waddling around in all their glory). It’s only a matter of time before we eff up Mother Nature too and no one will be around to remember it was all once beautiful. No wonder I love to “fly” in my dreams.

I think you made my point e3h, only more articulately. Thanks.

That’s one of the things I love about living here; pure, unadulterated earth and sky, untouched by the atrocities of developers! I haven’t seen a porn megastore, or a Bed, Bath and Beyond in two glorious years. It does suck not being able to buy a toaster when you need one though.

I love the stark quality of Light Poles!

We just bought a new toaster the other day and it works great, but we did have to drive past all that BS to get it.

We’ve had a couple of sunny days in the last week after what seemed like months of cold, grey, damn, murky, snowy, frosty stuff. By lying on our bed in a south facing room after lunch I have “sunbathed” and stimulated whichever tonin thinks it needed a whack!

The rain gutter almost offers a challenge to the clouds; “come on then, do your worst!”

First pic…cloud is a poodle. Aren’t we supposed to play that game?

We certainly can Bear. Poodle seems reasonable.

I´m glad you found the tonin you needed, FJ. I swear, looking at these shots makes me feel better too.

(ps. I know it´s only been a couple of days, but boy do I miss Department stores. Oh, and showers.)

Haha.

But Bill, this was to be our quiet evening at home!

Because of the Whisper 200,000, I can hear your BO even here in America.

Bitchin’ rain gutter.
I like the subliminal suggestion of not entering Walgreens.
Those light poles look like security cameras.

Nice clouds.
