Work-Space Photos 2 – The Revenge

25 05 2009

In our second installment of work space photos, I am happy to present our favorite lion tamer—the Capitalist Lion Tamer.  Apparently, CLT has a real job and performs actual work, which not all of us can claim.  The photo below is of a 100-ton Amada Brake Press and according to CLT this machine is not a finesse blogging tool and it can kill you if you’re not paying attention.  We take inspiration where we find it, even if that means bending metal.  BTW, if you’re not reading his blog then you must, its very funny and odd in a cool way.  Thanks CLT for sharing and the comment thread is now yours.

As do I and some of my co-workers. Too much, perhaps, hence the several additional pages on sexual harassment and misconduct in our employee handbook.

Our first aid kit has also become larger and much more interesting.

So CLT, without looking, how many fingers do you have???

Eleven. Just like the rest of you.

Hah!

I have 10 fingers… And a tail.

With the right amount of prayer, that’ll fall right off. Possibly the tail, too.

I saw terminator salvation last night and I think that machine may have been in one of the scenes…

It was a cameo. However, it completely shattered the continuity and is not regarded as “canon.”

My gawd, it’s HAL of 2001 A Space Odyssey. That is a magnificent piece of machinery, CLT!

Which would explain why it keeps calling me “Dave.”

If I even went near that thing it would eat me.

This I know to be true.

That’s just a bug. A patch is on the way.

Impressive, CLT.

I dated an Amanda Blake back in the 80′s. She wasn’t 100 tons but she was on the larger side, enjoyed heavy metal and pressed weights.

Strange coincidence….

Did she also sever fingers and enjoy the love of many men as well?

Oh…and thanks for posting these FJ. It’s very enjoyable.

I want to look at CLT’s big machine, but my eyes will not tear themselves from the AWFULNESS in your banner. What is that thing??

I’m going to bed now to fight off nightmares for several hours. Thank you, FJ. Thank you so much.

Jeez. It’s a picture of me. I know I’m not goreous, but I do have feelings. I’m not an animal. I’m going to bed now to cry myself to sleep. Thank you, BKT. Thank you so much.

Lighten up BK, its art and art works on more than one level…this would be the creepy level. Okay, I’ll change it for you.

Interesting note about the big machine, it comes with more warning labels than a cigarette pack or a Mattel toy.

BTW, thanks for the feature, FJ. Nice to see the 100-ton press finally get the attention it deserves.

I was kinda’ hoping you’d go all out & call this “Work-Space Photos II: The Legend of Curly’s Gold.” Brilliant nonetheless.
