I am curious about my loyal readers, so I would like to know what you guys are currently reading. If you don’t read (and I can’t believe that), then what is new on your iPod. If you don’t read or listen to music, then what are you coloring these days?

So here’s my list: I’m reading Our Man in Havana by Graham Greene (which is pretty good so far). I’v been listening to Ry Cooder lately (I, Flathead and some older stuff). And I haven’t been coloring, but if I did I wouldn’t stay inside the lines.

That picture is doctored, that girl would never have been smiling in front of George Bush.
Let’s see, I’m reading a lot of “Go Dog, Go”, by PD Eastman. I’m listening to a lot of Christmas music, and some Barney, and I do color.
Guess how old my child is? If you guessed 17, you’re right!
Seriously (if one can be at this site), I’m reading a lot of information on carbon pricing mechanisms, and re-reading Edith Hamilton’s “Mythology”, M. G. Kains’ “Five Acres and Independence”, and “The Vegetable Gardener’s Bible” by Edward C. Smith. I’m hoping the last two aren’t fiction.
Impressive, I’v seen some of your coloring on the web. Equally impressive is your reading palate and, no, I am pretty sure “The Vegetable Gardener’s Bible” is not fiction. Thanks for sharing.
Sun Gangs by the Veils (although I just seconds ago finished listening to Donald Where’s Yer Troosers” by Andy Stewart)
How the Scots Invented the Modern World: The True Story of How Western Europe’s Poorest Nation Created Our World and Everything in It by Arthur Herman
Oh, and The Complete Works of Dickens… (for future quotes)
Sweet, thanks for the input. And, of course, Dickens, always Dickens.
Am reading Revolutionary Road and it’s fabulous. Listening to Natural Born Killers soundtrack. I don’t know why, it’s only got a few good songs on it and i keep having to skip tracks
Nightstand is littered with half-read books. Carl Sagan’s “Billions and Billions: Thoughts on Life and Death at the Brink of the Millennium”, John Sandford’s “Dark of the Moon” are 2 of them. Terrible habit of mine…dropping books for months at a time.
David Gray is new on the iPod, as are Amos Lee and Ray Lamontagne. They’re now intermingled with everything from The Smiths to Pavarotti.
I like.
Reading back issues of convenience store weekly and listening to a compliation CD of Bollywood playback singers.
Of course, what else could it be.
Currently I am reading your blog.
I am reading Hustler and listening to Bananarama. My latest drawing was an afro on President Obama.
Sorry…not very exciting stuff.
Please post the drawing on your blog.
i don’t read. you can believe that or not, but its most definitely true. This includes my high school years and also my college time as an English major, to which reading is rather necessary.
the only book i’ve ever read cover to cover is Couplehood by Paul Riser. because its friggen hilarious. and it starts on page 145. and you can always count on the salvation army having about 50 copies at .10 a piece. so, its economical too.
i’ve forced everyone else to read this, so i think you should probably pick up a copy yourself.
I believe you.
Mostly reading the blogs that I follow (like this one) at the moment. But for now, re-reading some dribble I wrote about three years ago, so that I can re-write it for consumption by the general public.
Thanks for stopping by G, I plan on reading some of your stuff soon.
I am reading forwarded terrible porn texts from a friend who is being besieged by the world’s worst seducer. I have just downloaded an N-Dubz album (I beseech you, if you don’t know who they are, please don’t go looking for them. It’s for my daughter. I can’t get past the fact they wear novelty knitted helmets). No colouring. I am the Woman in Black – I’m allergic to colour.
Maybe you should publish these porn texts for the sake of comedy.
I would, but fear offending your delicate sensibilities. The woman involved seems strangely obsessed with putting her fingers in her mouth (is that sexy? Aren’t there other things that might spring to mind?)
I’ve been in a biography phase lately – Einstein: His Life and Universe by Isaacson; John Kenneth Galbraith: His Life, His Politics, His Economics by Parker; and just starting Jim Whittaker: A Life on the Edge. Turns out he lives in my new hometown and I recently “won” an afternoon of lunch with and a cruise around the Sound on his sailboat. Go figure…
Way cool. How’s the Isaacson book, I expect a review.
Newest music on the ipod is Taj Mahal’s Maestro! Hello Josephine is a real hot one. Amos Lee is relatively new and gets played and replayed.
I always have several books on hand, am reading Benjamin Black’s mystery, Christine Falls. Edgar Sawtelle is in the pile too.
Thanks for stopping by df, I like your eclectic collection.
I’m jumping in so late in the game, but couldn’t resist answering this question. Your query just lit a fire under my a** to finish the books I started last year and haven’t yet finished (adult onset ADD?):
1) Programming the Universe (M.I.T. professor Seth Lloyd)
Notes From a Small Island (Bill Bryson…for some much needed levity)
2) Bang! The Complete History of the Universe (gift from TL)
3) Parallel Worlds (Michio Kaku)
4) Hyperspace (Michio Kaku)
5) Visions (Michio Kaku…are you seeing a pattern here?)
6) The Elegant Universe (Brian Greene)
7) The Making of the Atomic Bomb (started reading this in 1997…love it)
What in the hell is wrong with me? I could be reading these wonderful books…instead I am taking a break from watching Celebrity Apprentice and Breaking Bad (which I don’t enjoy nearly as much as the Science Channel).
I am seeing a pattern here. I read the Greene book and several of Bill Bryson’s works. I too like science.
